Conflict

As part of our unit ‘Words to Live By’ and part of a school wide peer mediation programme we brainstormed the word Conflict. Before exploring techniques and strategies for conflict resolution. I was really pleased with how everyone participated and contributed to brainstorming and discussion.

Some of the discussion points that come up included:

  • When there is conflict something needs to change to bring a positive outcome.
  • Conflict occurs when there is change
  • Communication is the key to resolution.
  • Conflict is sometimes needed.
  • Listening plays a big part in conflict resolution

Now we will use the information as part of our studies of The Treaty of Waitangi.
